O, how will I forget the magic day:
The day when you outshone the Sun with
grins,
Lit Stars in verdant ponds of morning
May,
And saved the dizzied Earth from
whirling spins?
With tender throbs of Spring there
rhymed a breeze
That brought the radiant, melting Summer
scent
At water's edge, beneath the willow
trees,
Of loti, lilacs, and crapemyrtles blent.
Lake Nameless, trembling, heaved a happy
sigh,
Assured the golden arrows soon should
dart,
Whilst magpie flocks on that Pagoda nigh
Were chattering TILL DEATH DO US APART.
Spontaneously
a journey so began,
Propelled by
Love, Fortuna's secret plan.
